Countdown Day 5: A Big Mission, a Big Machine, and a Big Celebration Coming!

Hello Beautiful Golden Anchor Quilting Community!

As we work through these last few days—unpacking boxes, organizing supplies, watching Geneva work her magic to make everything beautiful—we’re filled with so much joy and so much hope. This community has carried us through, and now we’re almost ready to welcome you into our new home.

We’ll be open in our new location inside Frank’s Bargain Center on Saturday, May 17 from 10 AM–5 PM for our Grand-ish Reopening celebration!

But just a heads-up… we won’t be fully unpacked or completely settled in just yet. The heart of Golden Anchor Quilting will be there—US and YOU — and we’ll be ready to greet you with smiles, class discounts, and prizes—but the finishing touches will still be in progress.

Here is what our last couple weeks of transition will look like before we FULLY REOPEN on Saturday, May 31! 

Sunday, May 18 – Friday, May 23:
We’ll be moving the final pieces from the old shop and settling into our new space. Someone will be present at the new location during the following hours:

• Sunday, May 18: 11 AM – 4 PM

• Monday, May 19 – Friday, May 23: 10 AM – 5 PM

Saturday, May 24 – Julie from Sassy Sunflower joins us for a special visit and event in the new classroom! Details and to register HERE!

One more week of moving, adjusting, and finishing touches.

Saturday, May 31 – Fully Reopened & Operational!
We’ll be completely up and running—and Rick from Absolute Edge will be on-site for mobile sharpening from 10 AM to 3 PM!

Come help us prep quilt kits that will be used at our QOV Retreat! Choose your shift, or just stop in—we’ll have fabrics, patterns, and cutting stations ready to go.

Quilts of Valor Retreat

Join us for an unforgettable weekend of stitching with purpose. This FREE event brings together sewists, veterans, quilt shops, and guilds to create (at least LOL) 100 quilts for service members and veterans touched by war.

* Sew for a few hours or stay all three days!

* Bring your own machine or borrow one

* All experience levels welcome

* Some Meals & Many supplies provided

* We’re still seeking longarm volunteers to help finish quilts after the event!

**So far, 16 quilt tops are already complete**—and we’re just getting started.

Whether you cut, press, stitch, or quilt—there’s a role for everyone.
