Looking Ahead With HOPE - A Golden Anchor Quilting Update

Hello Beautiful Golden Anchor Quilting Community,

We wanted to take a moment to connect with you and share a hopeful update as we continue moving forward after the February flood.

While we’re not quite ready to put everything in writing just yet, many of you have heard the exciting whispers of change in the air—and yes, the direction we’re heading is full of opportunity and growth. We’ve been having wonderful in-person conversations with many of you, and the support and enthusiasm you’ve shown is fueling our momentum.

We’re working hard behind the scenes on the next phase of Golden Anchor Quilting, and while we’re still waiting for final responses and paperwork before making a full announcement, we’re filled with hope. Just know: great things are coming!

In the meantime, please remember that we are available by appointment for quilt and machine pick-up or drop-off. You can reach out to schedule by emailing Louisa@goldenanchorquilting.com. Because we still don’t have a bathroom at the shop, we are not open for regular hours while we work on the future of Golden Anchor Quilting.

Also, a personal note—this Sunday marks our first wedding anniversary! Darren and I will be taking the day to celebrate together, so we will not be at the shop that day. Thank you for sharing in our joy and supporting us through every season.

We’re also doing something exciting while we rebuild—we’re planning six months’ worth of classes! We are dreaming up a calendar full of creative, fun, and skill-building sessions to bring our community together. If you have a project you love and think would make a great class, or if you’re interested in teaching, we’d love to hear from you. We are especially interested in ideas with a clear pattern or theme.

To better support both our students and guest instructors, we’ve found that walking through the project together before offering it as a class helps set everyone up for success. We will happily make time to work with you on class ideas, just reach out by email or phone to set up a time!

Garment Sewing

Forgiving-fit garments, wardrobe basics, and specialty projects like quilted jackets and scrubs, designed to welcome beginners and seasoned garment sewists alike.

Charity Sewing

Join us in giving back through hands-on sewing days in partnership with local and national organizations.

Slow Stitching & Handwork

Projects like English Paper Piecing that offer a slower, more meditative creative experience.

Machine Mastery

Future offerings to help you get the most out of your BERNINA and other sewing machines, whether you’re a brand-new owner or looking to build confidence.

We’re thrilled to be welcoming the team from the Sassy Sunflower Half Pack Quilts program for a special event right at our shop. They’ll be bringing new and exciting things from the half pack world, along with swag, gifts, and plenty of inspiration to keep our own Sassy Sunflower journey going strong. We’ll also be revealing new fabric bundles, showing off fresh shop samples, giving away prizes, and announcing a brand-new class series you won’t want to miss.
