Back from Chicago – Exciting News and Upcoming Events!

Hello Beautiful Golden Anchor Quilting Community,

We’re back from Chicago! Our trip was a thrilling adventure filled with learning, inspiration, and a little much-needed relaxation thanks to our train ride to and from the city. We are feeling energized about our next steps with BERNINA and can’t wait to share more with you soon.

That said, we are still facing some very real challenges at the shop following the February flood. At this time, we do not yet have a reopening date. However, we are still available by appointment for pick-up and drop-off of machines, quilts, and orders. Please email Louisa@goldenanchorquilting.com or call 603-543-3311 to schedule a time to meet.

We’re full steam ahead for our Quilts of Valor Mini-Retreat happening this weekend! Here are the full details:

Retreat Schedule & Details:

- Dates: Friday, March 28 - Sunday, March 30, 2025

- Location: White River Junction VA Medical Center – Freedom Building Conference Rooms

- Friday Arrival & Setup: 8:00 AM with local help to carry in supplies from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM

- Sunday Cleanup: Retreat wraps at 2:00 PM with carry-out help from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Meals:

- Friday Night Potluck Dinner – bring a dish to share!

- We may have some additional meals provided, but please plan to bring your own food or order out as needed.

What’s Provided:

- Tables, chairs, power, extension cords

- Pressing stations with irons

- Coffee, tea, and water

- Kits made with donated fabric (precut and DIY)

- Patterns and additional donated fabric for inspiration

- A snack table for shared goodies

- Optional games and prizes

What to Bring:

- Sewing machine and must-have sewing tools

- Thread for piecing

- Layers for comfort

- Snacks for the snack table

- Fabric if you want to work on your own project (please check Quilts of Valor size and pattern guidelines!)

- Extra lighting or your favorite chair if you prefer

- A positive attitude and readiness for a meaningful weekend!

There is still room to join us—registration is still FREE, and is available on our calendar on our website! We’d love to have you involved in this important effort.

And now, a little teaser…

we’re working hard behind the scenes to prepare for a BIG sale—hopefully launching April 1—as we need to make room in our limited space for something truly exciting: BERNINA machines! We’ll need to clear some shelving to bring these amazing machines into the shop, and that means deals you won’t want to miss. Stay tuned for more details!
