Flood Recovery Update and some exciting news!
Hello Beautiful Golden Anchor Quilting Community,
We are thrilled to share that demolition wrapped up yesterday! This is a huge milestone, and we’re one step closer to rebuilding. While we don’t yet have a timeline for reconstruction, we promise to keep you updated every step of the way. Your continued support—through online orders (coupon code STRONGER15 for 15% off sitewide), kind words, and encouragement—brightens our hearts every day!
Our community continues to shine in the most beautiful ways. On Tuesday, two sewing machines were ready for pickup from Levesque’s Sewing Machine & Vacuum in Hooksett, NH. When one of our community members realized the other couldn’t make the drive, she picked up both and brought the second machine back—just out of pure kindness! Moments like these remind us why this quilting family is so special.
And let’s talk about our incredible neighbors at Town Fair Tire—they’ve been keeping us updated on all the goodies you’ve been dropping off as a thank-you for letting us use their restroom and snuggle their adorable puppy. Your generosity hasn’t gone unnoticed! As we all start thinking about swapping out those snow tires, we encourage you to show them some love—let them know you’re part of our community when you stop by!
Long arm services have been a popular topic lately, and we are so grateful for the support! Darren loves being a part of your quilting journey. With so many moving parts in our flood recovery, our household’s bout of stomach flu over last weekend, and our upcoming Bernina Dealership training in Chicago, our turnaround time is currently closer to eight weeks instead of our usual four to six. That said, we are still accepting quilts by appointment, and we’ll be back to our faster turnaround as soon as we can. If you have already checked in a quilt, please know we are working hard to complete them as quickly as possible, and as close to original target dates as possible, while still ensuring the highest quality.
With construction continuing and so much still in flux, we’ve decided to keep the shop closed during the week we are in Chicago March 15-23). Our amazing Ambas-SEW-dors have already done so much, and we don’t want to ask them to navigate the ongoing upheaval in our condensed space. We appreciate your patience and understanding! We hope to be able to re-open when we return (on or around Tuesday, March 25th), and we will keep you posted.
Now for some exciting news! In a surprising and hopeful turn of events, negotiations with Brother Sewing Machines have reopened! This means we have the possibility of becoming a dual dealership with both Brother and Bernina, bringing even more options to our quilting family. These two brands complement each other beautifully, and through our recovery efforts, we were reconnected with a fantastic contact at Brother. While the timeline is uncertain (since we need a permanent space first), we wanted to share this wonderful update—we see great things ahead!
As a reminder, STRONGER15 is still active for 15% off sitewide for shipping or in-store pickup by appointment. Every order placed is a huge help in keeping us moving forward. Our team has been hard at work getting all previously placed orders packed and ready—thank you for your patience and support!
And finally, our Quilts of Valor retreat is still on! We sent out a dedicated email shortly before this one, but we are still in need of batting, backing, and long arm services for the quilts we’ll be making that weekend, as well as food/monetary donations from other organizations/people to keep all of the quilters fed all weekend! We can’t wait to see the impact our community will have!
Thank you all for continuing to lift us up during this time. We are endlessly grateful for each and every one of you, and we’ll keep sharing updates as we move closer to welcoming you back into the shop. This setback has truly set us up for an incredible COMEBACK!
With gratitude and hope,
Louisa, Darren, and the Crew at Golden Anchor Quilting
