Where Community is the Fabric of Our Dreams!

Happy New Year Golden Anchor Quilting Community!

Welcome to 2025! We hope this year brings blessings, joy, creativity, and plenty of time for sewing, sharing, and connecting with friends old and new.

As we step into this fresh chapter, we find ourselves reflecting on what an incredible journey our first full year in business has been. We’ve learned so much, made countless new friends, rekindled old friendships, and deepened bonds with those who’ve been with us from the start. One of our greatest joys has been seeing how our little shop has grown—not just in fabric and thread but in the love and energy you’ve all poured into making it a true community hub.

When we launched Golden Anchor Quilting, Darren was a semi-retired truck driver, and I (Louisa) was feeling pretty burned out after 23 years as a nurse. With sewing and quilting experience under my belt—and a big dream—we dove headfirst into this new adventure. Neither of us knew exactly how to run a business, but that didn’t stop us! With each challenge, an angel in the form of one of you would appear to help us over the hurdle. We are so incredibly grateful for this community and the blessings you’ve brought into our lives.

One unexpected joy has been Darren’s journey into long arm quilting. It’s given him a new purpose and so much fulfillment. He loves thinking about the warmth and love your quilts will bring to the lives they touch, often calling them “family heirlooms in the making.” Each quilt he finishes is not just a project—it’s a story, a legacy.

We’re continually inspired by the generosity and kindness you all share. Just last week, our incredible ambas-SEW-dorssent us home for my birthday and surprised us by reorganizing my (very chaotic!) office. And during the holiday week, so many of you took time out of your busy schedules to help with inventory. It’s moments like these—filled with laughter, hugs, and teamwork—that remind us just how special this community truly is.

As we look ahead to this exciting year, we’re eager to continue creating, learning, and celebrating with all of you. Check out our website for January, February, and March classes and events HERE, and stay tuned for a detailed newsletter about the March mini-retreat weekend for Quilts of Valor! There’s so much to look forward to, and we can’t wait to share it all with you.

Thank you for being the heart and soul of Golden Anchor Quilting. Here’s to another year of sewing dreams together, one stitch at a time.

With love and gratitude,
Louisa and Darren, and the crew at Golden Anchor Quilting
