Shop Update
Can we even believe it is October 1? Where did the summer go? The leaves are turning, and the air is getting crisp! We are loving the colors showing up on the trees!
As some of you may have read, we had a heartbreaking moment at the shop this past weekend. Someone came in the back door of the shop, and stole Darren’s jacket with lots of other valuables in his pockets. We have been so touched with the incredible outpouring of love and support as we work to recover from the loss, and replace the items taken. We wholeheartedly believe it was a stranger passing by the back of the shop, and not someone in our beautiful community. We are thankful that nobody was hurt, and will replace what was lost over time. Again, thank you for your love, support, and kindness in the face of this challenge!
The All New England Shop Hop continues to keep us hopping! We have now welcomed over 350 shop hoppers! As we approach our 400th shop hopper we are still enjoying meeting new folks, hiding turtles around the shop to be found, and keeping the candy bowl well stocked!
Geneva has been busy making beautiful displays! If you haven’t been in for a while, it’s like a whole new shop!
We have lots of kits that would make great holiday gifts, and some on sale as much as 40% off! We restocked jelly rolls, layer cakes, and charm packs recently too!
Before we share what is going on this week, we want to help you look a little further out in your calendars and see what you will enjoy! Click HERE to see this all on the calendar and register for anything that catches your eye!
Pumpkin Hollow Table Runner from VIlla Rosa Designs! This class will guide you through making a wonderful pumpkin table runner, and has an optional add on class to learn how to edge-to-edge quilt on the Luminaire machines in our classroom! Sherry Greene is teaching this class, and has some great tips and tricks for folks in these classes! Tuesday, October 8 will be the assembly day, and Tuesday October 15 will be embroidery on the Luminaire
All Wrapped Up Quilt class will help you make an adorable, jelly roll friendly, dog quilt for the dog lover in your life! Anne Blackburn is teaching this series for us on Tuesdays October 9, 16, and 23! Class includes the pattern, instructions, and a discount on long arm service when you check it in with us for quilting!
Twelve Months of Gifts is our monthly make and take class series! Each month we pick a project we can complete in the 3 hour class, that you can make more of for gifts throughout the year! This month's class is on Thursday, October 10, and we are making zipper pouches out of upholstery sample swatches! Class runs at 10:30am and 4:30pm!
The Beach House Quilt by Judy Niemyer taught by our Gene Corliss! This paper pieced quilt has been done at the shop before, but this time we are offering kits in teal, coral, and bright colors! Class includes the pattern, instruction, and a discount on long arm services when you check in your completed top for us to quilt. Kits will be available for $115, or you can pick/bring your own fabrics! Class is Fridays October 11, November 1, and November 22
Come make a Tippy Tote with us! On Friday October 18, or Friday, November 8, or Saturday, November 9! This is part of our Sassy Sunflower Half-Pack-Quilt program. We just love how quickly and easily these work up! Great teacher gift! Great gift for anyone really! (Even yourself ???? )
The Great stocking class will be on Saturday, October 19! We wanted to get the class done in time that when you find you want to make more stockings, you have time! The stocking is wonderfully oversized, and Lynne G has all the tips and tricks to make them wonderful!
Monday, October 21 the shop will be closed to the general public, as it is our normally closed day, but anyone can sign up to join us in our Project Linus Blanketeer Event! We have 8 spots for folks with sewing machines, and infinite spots for folks with camp chairs to knit, crochet, tie fleece, or otherwise create without machines! Light refreshments will be served, and we will offer help coordinating an order for delivered lunch should folks choose that route. Let’s see how many blankets we can make in one day! Registration is free, but we ask that you do register so that we can plan for refreshments and space!
October 27 is our next Mobile sharpening day with Rick from Absolute Edge Mobile Sharpening! Bring your scissors, shears, and pinking shears to the shop! Rick will sharpen them while you shop! Can’t make it that day, drop off your pairs to be sharpened ahead of time, and pick them up any day after the 27th! Just $10/pair! Rick does an awesome job!
T-shirt and memory fabric quilting series will run Saturdays November 2, 16, and 30th! We will take you from t-shirt/memory fabric to a complete quilt top in this three day class series!
We decided on a date for the Holiday Ornament Exchange! Join us December 7th for the swap and some festive refreshments! Registration will close on November 16 so we can give everyone a final head count in time to make ornaments! In case you don’t know what this is, each participant makes several of one kind of holiday ornament, and brings them to the party. Then each participant gets ornament from each other participant. If there are 24 people participating, you come in with 24 of your ornament, and leave with 24 different ornaments made by other folks in the party! We will cap the event at 24 participants, so that it doesn’t get too overwhelming!

Friday:
Friday evening we continue our journey with our latest group of All Inclusive Learn to Quilt students! This is the week when we don’t have class, because the quilt tops are done and Darren is long arming them so that students can come back on October 11 to learn how to trim and bind their quilts! This series is called All Inclusive because it includes all materials and skills to make a completed quilt in 6 weeks! We will share pictures when their quilts are done!
We continue to be enchanted with this amazing community and all the beauty that is created in and around us!
Thank you for your continued support! We look forward to your next visit, and hope you can join us LIVE on Tuesday’s at 6:00pm!
