Hello Beautiful Golden Anchor Quilting Community!
We hope you are enjoying the later parts of summer!
We are gearing up for the All New England Shop Hop September 1 - October 31! We have some fun games and sales and raffles for all of you to come and enjoy!
We will also be posting a video we recorded for the Jaftex #ScottSentMe video challenge soon! We will make big announcements so everyone can watch, like, share, and enjoy our video antics and help Golden Anchor Quilting WIN!
We have an exciting new program to introduce this week! We are calling it the Ambas-SEW-dor program! After we announce it on YouTube this evening we will send out all of the details in a separate newsletter.
This week at the shop:
Tuesday:
Every week Tuesday is OPEN SEW! 10:00am-5:00pm! Just $10 to come work on a project of your choosing with other beautiful people working on their projects! You can bring your own machine, or rent one of ours ($15 for sewing, and $25 for embroidery). We have a well stocked classroom with tools you can try out and use! Folks who come to open sew often leave saying "I learned so much today!" You can register HERE! Just select class only if you are bringing your own machine!
Tuesday is also our YouTube LIVE at 6:00pm. We work to keep the link on our website up to date each week, and to share it here with you to make it easy to join and watch! Click HERE to watch live, or the replay! Remember, when you watch live and answer our survey question in the comments, you can win the project we make in the tutorial section!
This Tuesday is also Left Handers Day! Did you know there are left handed tools and rulers to make it easier for left handed folks to quilt and sew? Stop by the shop for a demo of some of these tools this week, and we will give you 15% off any left handed tools you order with us!
Wednesday:
This Wednesday is National Financial Awareness Day. Watch our FaceBook page for tips from some of our favorite financial experts! It's a good idea to make financial plans, otherwise we could run out of money for fabric! LOL While you are checking out the financial tips, be sure to like and follow us on Facebook! We do a lot of fun things there!
In honor of financial awareness day we also plan to host a class to make a simple wallet that uses up some scraps and would make a great gift! Keep an eye on the calander on the website for this fun class!
Thursday:
This Thursday is Tell a Joke Day! We will have a spot on our Facebook page for you to share a joke with the community, don't worry, we are going to go first! If you come into the shop and tell us a joke, you can enjoy 10% off one item you purchase on Thursday! Keep us laughing, it is the best medicine!
Friday:
This Friday is National Roller Coaster day! We found a really fun Roller Coaster quilt pattern that we are working on making a sample for, and then we will have a class! In the meantime, check out Krista Moser's other patterns, and tell us which ones you would enjoy us having classes for! You can see her patterns HERE
Saturday:
This Saturday is our Ray Lagasse basket making workshop! There is ONLY ONE spot left!!!! Grab your spot and complete your own handmade basket with Ray's expert guidance! Workshop is 8:30am-4:00pm and is just $150 and includes all materials and instruction! Register HERE
Saturday is also National Thrift shop day! In honor of this, we will be hosting a T-shirt rag rug class on Sunday. See detials in the next section! If you have time on Saturday, go check out some of our local thrift shops, and tell them that Golden Anchor Quilting sent you! We love the feeling of collaboration between us and other small businesses! Check out Kit N Kaboodle in Claremont, Newport Thrift Shoppe in Newport, Listen Thrift stores in Lebanon, White River Junction, and Canaan, Uplifting Thrifting in White River Junction, and Closet Treasures in Grantham! So many fun things to find and great deals to be had!
Sunday:
Sunday we will host a T-Shirt rag rug class at the shop 11:00am-4:00pm. You bring t-shirts (either old ones you had on hand, or some you found at the thrift stores) and we supply the instruction and techniques to turn them into a rug (or you can stop when you have a placemat or coaster if you want smaller projects)! Class is just $25! Register HERE
Sunday is also Never Give Up Day! We are hosting a class on Wednesday 8/21 and Saturday 8/24 to celebrate! We all have those projects we put in time-out or a particular "bucket" we hide away somewhere. You know the ones, they frustrate you, or the get boring, or you just don't want to finish them right then.....Well! This is the time to take them out of the bucket, put them back on the machine, and try again!!!! Classes are jusst $15 each, and include light refreshements to keep us going! Even Louisa has a project she is pulling out of time out for these classes! We can cheer one another on, get help if we get stuck, and get some of those forgotten projects off our to-do lists!
