UPCYCLING WORKSHOP: T-SHIRT REVERSE APPLIQUÉ + JEAN-TO-SKIRT TRANSFORMATION - Monday 1/26 10:30am - 5:00pm

First, we’ll explore reverse appliqué, a fun technique that lets you layer fabrics under your T-shirt and cut away the top layer to reveal color, pattern, and personality. Perfect for covering stains, adding interest to a plain shirt, or turning a basic tee into a wearable piece of art.

Next, we’ll turn your jeans into a one-of-a-kind skirt! Whether they’re thrifted, brand new, or pulled from the back of your closet, we’ll show you how to prep, cut, fit, and sew the transformation. You’ll also learn ways to incorporate your reverse appliqué fabrics into the skirt design for a coordinated look.

This is a relaxed, creative, community-centered class designed to help you sew bravely and have fun while learning new skills.

What to Bring:
• A T-shirt that fits the intended wearer (any color, stain okay!)
• A pair of jeans that fit the intended wearer
• Sewing machine in good working order (or rent a shop machine for $15)

We Provide:
• Guidance on choosing fabrics for your appliqué designs
• Scrap and yardage options for embellishments (students will choose & purchase during class)
• Classroom tools, cutting stations, and pressing equipment
• Supportive instruction and lots of creative inspiration!

Skill Level:
Confident beginner and up. You should be comfortably using a sewing machine, but no garment experience is required.

Lunch:
Please bring a lunch or plan for a quick break. We’ll have snacks, coffee, and tea available.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Refunds are issued only if you notify Golden Anchor Quilting at least 72 hours in advance and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a class credit will be issued.
Cancellations made within 72 hours of the class are eligible for store credit only.
Classes with fewer than 3 students may be canceled, with credit offered.
Weather-related cancellations will be rescheduled or credited.
