Golden Makers - HomeSchool Program - 9:00am - 11:00am

The Golden Makers is a hands-on sewing club curriculum for homeschool students who want to learn, create, and grow their skills in a fun and supportive environment. Meeting the first three Mondays each month, this program guides students through a variety of sewing techniques — from threading a machine to completing a quilt — while encouraging creativity and confidence.
Throughout the year, Golden Makers will:
• Learn sewing machine operation and care
• Practice rotary cutting and safe tool use
• Read and follow patterns
• Construct garments and accessories
• Sew on buttons and install zippers
• Work on a culminating large project (such as a quilt) by the end of the program
Each gathering combines guided instruction, hands-on practice, and time for independent or group project work. Skills build month-to-month, and students will have opportunities to put their own creative spin on each project.
Supplies & Materials:
• Golden Anchor Quilting and Frank's Bargain Center will supply each student with a starter fabric kit, and some basic sewing notions.
• Fabric and notions as specified for each project (supply lists provided in advance) will be available for purchase at Frank's Bargain Center with class related discounts throughout the year.
Important Notes:
• Designed for ages 6–13; students under 8 should be able to follow basic safety instructions and stay engaged for the 2-hour session
• Class size limited to 7 students for maximum individual attention
• Tuition is billed monthly and covers all three sessions each month
Missed Classes and Make up Sessions:
We understand that life can be busy and things like illness or unexpected events can come up. Make-up sessions will be available for $15 each. We’ll take each situation into consideration, and in extreme circumstances we may be able to make special accommodations. We don’t want the possibility of missing a session to be the reason your child can’t participate in the Golden Makers experience.
