Chubby Charmer Bag Class

Make a roomy, versatile tote perfect for everything from quilting retreats to beach days!

In this fun, beginner-friendly class, you'll create the Chubby Charmer Tote, a large, open-top bag designed to show off your favorite 5" charm squares. With its oversized body and simple construction, this tote is the perfect project for confident beginners and experienced sewists alike. You'll leave class with a beautiful, fully lined bag that's ready for travel, shopping, or carrying your next big sewing project!

Finished Size:
Approximately 14" tall x 18" wide x 10" deep

Skills You'll Practice:

• Working with 5" charm squares

• Simple piecing and bag assembly

• Creating and attaching lined bag panels

• Adding optional interfacing for extra structure

What's Included:

• Expert Instruction

• Use of classroom thread, tools, and supplies

Materials Needed:

• Printed Chubby Charmer Pattern (Available for purchase at Frank's Bargain Center in the same building as Golden Anchor Quilting)

• 48–50 charm squares (5" x 5") for the bag exterior

• 1 1/4 yards quilting cotton for the lining

• 1 1/4 yards fusible fleece or foam stabilizer (available at Frank's Bargain Center)

• Optional: Additional interfacing for extra firmness

• Coordinating thread

Skill Level:
Confident Beginner and Up.
Students should be able to operate a sewing machine independently, use a rotary cutter safely, and follow basic project instructions.

Sewing Machines:
Bring your own machine or rent one of ours for $10.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your attendance:

• If you notify us at least 72 hours in advance by call or text, and we are able to fill your spot from a waitlist, a refund will be issued.

• Otherwise, a store credit for a future class will be provided.

• No refunds (only store credits) are available if you cancel less than 72 hours before class.

If we need to cancel the class:

• If fewer than 3 students are enrolled 72 hours prior to the class, we reserve the option to cancel and issue store credit.

• If weather forces cancellation, we will make every effort to reschedule for a time that works for all enrolled students, or issue store credit if you are unable to attend the rescheduled date.

By registering for the class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy.
