Reading Pillow Starter - Make and Take - 10:30am - 4:30-pm

These pillows are as practical as they are adorable! In this fun and beginner-friendly class, you’ll sew a sturdy pillow with a built-in pocket for holding one or two books (or a tablet) and a handle for easy carrying. They make perfect gifts for kids, travel buddies, or cozy reading spots — and can be customized with embroidery or themed fabrics.

How to cut and prepare fabrics for durability

How to add a handle for carrying

Finishing techniques for a neat, polished look
What to Bring:

¾ yard main fabric

¾ yard lining fabric for pocket and backing

¼ yard accent fabric for handle (optional)

Coordinating thread

16" pillow form (available for purchase at Frank's Bargain Center with class related discounts)

Sewing machine in good working order (or rent from the shop for $15)

Basic sewing supplies (pins/clips, scissors, seam ripper, etc.)

Pattern/template for pillow construction

Classroom cutting mats, rulers, rotary cutters, and irons

Step-by-step instruction and guidance
Cancellation Policy:
Refunds are issued only if you notify Golden Anchor Quilting at least 72 hours in advance and we can fill your spot. Otherwise, a store credit will be issued. No refunds for cancellations made within 72 hours — only store credit. Classes with fewer than 3 students may be canceled, with credit offered. Weather-related cancellations will be rescheduled or credited.
