Our Story

Golden Anchor Quilting proudly opened its doors in October of 2023, in Claremont, New Hampshire, where it quickly became a warm gathering space for quilters and creatives. But in early 2025, a catastrophic flood forced the shop to close its Claremont location — and led to a new beginning.

Now, we’re thrilled to be part of the Charlestown community in our new home inside Frank’s Bargain Center. This shared space has been a blessing for both businesses — and even more so for our growing community.

Louisa, a former nurse, and Darren, a long-haul trucker, took a leap of faith to create something meaningful together — a place where creativity and connection come together, one stitch at a time.

The name Golden Anchor Quilting comes from Louisa’s mother, who often said:
“Tie your dreams to a magical Golden Anchor with an unbreakable golden thread. Throw them into the future, and trust that you’ll get there someday.”

That dream is now a reality. Every quilt, every conversation, every class adds to the rich fabric of this community.

At the Golden Anchor, Louisa’s dream came true — and we can’t wait to be part of yours.

The Golden Anchor Inspiration

Louisa’s mom always said:
“Tie your dreams to a magical Golden Anchor with an unbreakable golden thread. Throw them into the future, and trust that you’ll get there someday.”

That beautiful vision is what gave our shop its name — and its heart.
